No Reserve Auction~ Alwlays Happy to combine Shipping~ We have a beautiful MAJOLICA PITCHER. It bears the Griffin Smith and Hill Etruscan mark on the underside. I am not expert in this area but I am sure of the antiquity. It is in overall good condition with only a chip on the under side which shows a bit on the bottom rim when viewing from the outside. I understand this can be expected for pieces of this age. Please see my photos. T is some evicdence of crazing on the inside. The other noticable issue is a 1 " hair line which is on the lip of the pitcher. It does not feel rough to the touch. It is probably looking worse than it is, due to dust settling in and making it look dark. I believe you could use a q-tip and soak with the right treatment product & it would almost erase the evidence of it even being t T is another very small one on the other side of the lip...I almost missed it even being t T is a light spider mark inside on the floor of the pitcher which does not come through to the underside at all. Once again being very treatable by soaking. Although, I will leave this operation up to the new owner. Measuring 6 1/4 " tall at the highest point. The background is an off white or cream which reflects hints of blush or pink in the varying light. It is generously decorated with lovely Ferns in beautifully rich greens accentuated with yellowed tips and t A wonderful find for the majolica collector!
