This auction is for the EXTREMELY RARE Wizard World Philadelphia variant of Zenescope's Grimm Fairy Tales #1. This cover is the smoking hot red riding hood variant that was limited to ONLY 500 copies IN THE WORLD! To put that into comic perspective most books have a print run of 100,000 - 250,000 and even the VERY limited prints have about 3,000 - 5,000 books printed. Those sell out and are very, very hard to find. Then you have this book. Only 500 were made and they are now IMPOSSIBLE to find. I have only seen one on ebay in the last few months (it was number 357 out of 500 and it went for over $150). As of the time i am writing this t is not another copy currently available on ebay or in an ebay store except for this auction. Other than that wizard and ALL comic stores that i have checked are sold out. The one place that i found the book had it for $300. This issue is number 281 out of 500 (for those who don't know the lower the number the higher the value of the book and the more it is sought after). If all of that wasn't enough this issue is also signed on the front cover by writers Joe Tyler and Ralph Tedesco in silver paint pen & hand numbered on the inside cover #281/500. This entire series is getting more and more popular and due to the limited availability of the books and more and more people wanting them, they are only going to continue rising in value. This book in particular in my opinion is about to skyrocket because people are just now finding out it is out t and A LOT of people who want it and can't even find one for sale. If you do find one good luck finding it for under $200. The good news is it's available and t is NO RESERVE so the highest bidder wins. As for the condition of the book, it is in the exact same condition that i got it in from Wizard and they sold it as NM. Now i am a strict grader so to be honest i don't agree with their grade. I can see why they graded it that way because all of the major grading points are great, but i myself would grade it VF. The reason i differ from them is just a matter of opinion and we all grade differently so please look at all of the pictures i have included below and judge for yourself. ALL of these pictures are of the actual comic that the winning bidder will receive and not just some random scan like some sellers use. The first pic is an up close scan via my scanner so you can see the cover close-up. The other pics are via my digital camera and show other views of the book including the autographs, the numbering on the inside cover, and other close-up views. Other than that all i can say is that this is a beautiful book and the flaws are minor in my opinion (once again please judge for yourself with the pictures). If you are a very very very strict grader/collector just know t are some spine/staple stresses and a couple of minor dings so this is not a PERFECT book. Other than those minor flaws though, the cover is flat and glossy, t are no breaks in color, the corners are sharp, and t are no bends, creases, or tears (these are the main things people usually use to grade books and also why wizard sold it as NM). Trust me when i say that whoever gets this book will be pleased because i know i was, and with the extreme scarcity of this book it is hard not to be happy just getting a hold of a copy.
