Originally established in Erie, Pennsylvania in 1865 as the partnership of Selden and Griswold, and chartered in 1887 as the Griswold Manufacturing Company, Griswold is known to have produced some of the finest cast iron hollow ware ever produced in America, right up to their disappearance in 1957.

Professionally cleaned, fully restored, and verified as authentic, this is vintage GRISWOLD as it was meant to look!

When this fine Danish Cake Pan left the Griswold foundry, it was NOT rusty, was NOT encrusted with grease and carbon, did not reek of rancid grease, and allowing for frequent and careful use, now once again looks much as it did so many decades ago!!

This auction is for a VERY GOOD natural Iron finish Griswold #32 AEBLESKIVER or DANISH CAKE PAN, in VERY GOOD overall condition .

Made by Griswold sometime during the 1940's and 1950's, and advertised at various times by Griswold's marketing department as an EGG POACHER, an APPLE CAKE PAN, a DANISH CAKE PAN, or an AEBLESKIVER , this very nice specialty cooking pan measures 9.25" rim-to-rim, 14.0" rim-to-handle-tip, is 1.75" deep, and has seven (7) hemispherical cooking wells that are 2.25" in diameter and 1.125" deep. The exterior bottom is embossed with the name " GRISWOLD " and the address " ERIE PA ", and deeply incised with the item number " NO 32 " and the pattern number " 962 ", with no letter suffix.

Having the warm, rich, dark color, normally associated with well-maintained vintage cast iron, this well cast collectible iron Cake Pan has no chips, cracks, pits, rust, warping or bowing, will sit absolutely flat on any hard, level surface, and rings nicely like a bell when tapped. This substantial Aebleskiver has been throughly cleaned of any and all coagulated grease and carbon, and lightly pre-seasoned with food-grade vegetable shortening for your immediate cooking use or display.

Well used, and certainly NOT abused, with practically NO utensil marks or scratches in evidence, it suggests that this very attractive specialty Cake Pan saw frequent, but very careful cooking use. Any questions? Click on the " me " link, following my eBay ID above for FAQ's, or e-mail me.
