This is a lovely Early 20th Century GRISWOLD #8 Cast Iron Skillet with the rare combination Large Block Logo and the entire GRISWOLD, ERIE, PA., U. S. A. location information. The skillet is in Excellent Condition and is clearly marked on the underside reading from top to bottom "CAST IRON SKILLET, 8, GRISWOLD (with the double circle and large block logo), ERIE PA., U. S. A., 704". T is no letter designation making this the 1st skillet of this style in Griswold's 704 series. The skillet measures 10-1/2" across the round, 11-1/4" across its two pouring lips and is 2" deep. The skillet is clean, seasoned and in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, pitting, rust or warping and sits perfectly flat on the stove. T are characteristic manufacturing flaws from the casting process which are common and do not affect cooking in any way. The cooking surface and entire inside are exceptionally smooth and reflect like a mirror as testament to the highest grade iron of the period being used. This is truly a lovely Early 20th Century No. 8 Skillet with the rare combination Large Block Logo and entire GRISWOLD location information.
