I am going to first let you know all the information that is written on these two pieces. First the lid: GRISWOLD NO 9 SELF BASTING SKILLET COVER. PATENTED SEPT. 22 1925 PAT'D FEB.10. 1920 GRISWOLD ERIE PA., U.S.A. 1049 A. Now the skillet: Good Health Skillet 9 659. The writing on the skillet looks like it was hand written or machine written by hand. The man that sold me this set said his Dad bought these together for outdoor cooking and they were hung in the barn after use. The set is in nice condition with a grainy rust patina and I did not clean these two pieces at all, nor did I grease them. They are used cookware and they appear used. They do not have huge pits or gashes. The lid measures 11 1/2" diameter across the lid and 12 1/2" including the pour covers. It is a 2" dome and the handle was cast as part of the lid (no screws etc...). The skillet is 11" in diameter and 12" at the pour spouts. The handle was cast with the skillet (no screws etc....) 5" long handle with a small oval hole. The skillet is 2 1/4" deep. The two together weigh over 10 lbs. Very nice set....always together and well taken care of. I am going to try to mail them in the Flat Rate Box to keep postage down. I don't think they can be harmed if not wrapped with 10" of bubble wrap. I will try....
