AN ORIGINAL - TRUE EARLY BLOOD CHIT FROM A CHENNAULT 14 TH AIR FORCE PILOT'S FLIGHT JACKET

The seller (as a WW II pre-teen) received this Blood Chit from his uncle's buddy who was a fighter pilot in the China Burma Theatre of Operations from early 1942 through 1944. Vic H _______ served with Claire Chennault's 14 th Air Force from its original AVG to a U.S. Army Air Force Command and at first flew a P 40 and then other fighter aircraft in 1943 and 1944. He said he wore out three flight jackets and from two he removed the Blood Chits before discarding the jackets.

This leather Blood Chit shows wear and tear and t is no Nationalist Chinese Chop.

The seller sold the other Blood Chit about two weeks ago on E Bay.

This particular (three (3) piece) leather Blood Chit shows the effects of heavy use and was probably made by a Chinese tailor. Leather was the choice of pilots as it was sewn on the outside of the flight jacket rather than a fragile silk or cotton blood chit. Although the seller still has two more Blood Chits made from cotton and the other silk from Vic H______ as he served in the China Burma Theatre Of Operations for over two years . He also gave my uncle some Nationalist Chinese money that I eventually got and am including one in this auction along with the Blood Chit.

The historical reference "Last Hope - The Blood Chit Story" verifies the authenticity/description of this Blood Chit.

The seller will include to the winning bidder the full name of the pilot/owner.
