Original painting by Dominican master Guillo Perez (b.1926). Size is 21"x 25" including frame (small scratches to frame). Oil on canvas.Gift to Florida business leader directly from the artist.He was born in Moca, in 1926. Graduated from the Escuela de Bellas Artes (School of Fine Arts) of Santiago de los Caballeros in 1950, where later he would serve as Director. He studied with master painter Yoryi Morel. He served as the director of the School of Fine Arts in Santo Domingo and La Vega. Of the abstract expressionist style, his canvasses recreate the joy of a Sunday morning in the countryside.His lively colors move as if they were hunting for the mythical roots of the Dominican people, to sing them. “Land, sun, color, silence and humidity were the first signals that awaken my profound and passionate vocation for painting”, affirms the artist. He has received numerous awards; at the Concurso de Arte Eduardo Leon Jimenes (Eduardo Leon Jimenes Art Contest) alone, he has won three first place prizes (1966, 1967 and 1968), one second place (1964) and one fifth place (1967).Posted with eBay Mobile Posted with eBay Mobile
