Up for auction is an antique / or near antique brooch-pendant made of an enamelled mounting set with a cameo. The cameo is a wide rounded oval shape 1 1/4" wide x just over 1 1/2" long and sets up above the smooth edged bezel about 5mm or so with crisp detailing. It is made of somewhat slagged OLD milk glass - cast or pressed, depicting the bust of a Turn-of-the-Century woman. She is in excellent condition with gorgeous features: loose upswept hair-do,a lingerie jewel on the shoulder strap of her costume, a tasteful yet dotingly low neckline reveals the slight swell of her breasts...evocative, feminine. The front of this mounting repeats the oval shape of the cameo. The setting's 3/16" perimeter border has six (6) segments of guilloche panels filled/covered with a richly hued translucent red enamel each separated one from the other by flush round shapes of a deep coppery rose colored metal, the same material of the mounting, and look to have been created through the construction of the piece. Needless to say this particular brooch has a heavy Arts and Crafts influence based solely on its construction, materials and coloration...I would guess it is of the 1910-1915 period...the well crafted, handmade mounting has no markings.
