This auction is for 3 different GUILLOW'S Balsa Wood Airplane Model Kits. The first one is the GUILLOW'S Kit No. 804 DC-3 balsa airplane kit brand new in factory sealed box. It is a large, highly detailed balsa stick model kit. This kit can be built as a display model only. This kit includes decals for Eastern Airlines or military C-47 markings. Considered to be the single most important aircraft in the history of air transportation, the DC-3 first flew in 1935. Douglas Aircraft built it as a replacement for the smaller DC-2. Its 180 MPH cruising speed made it the fastest of its day, and carried 11 more passengers than the Boeing 247. By 1938, 80 percent of all American commercial airline traffic was carried on DC-3's. During World War 2, the military conversion of the DC-3, the C-47 was used by the thousands in every theatre of the war. After the war, many of the surplus C-47's were converted back to civilian service. Wing Span: 35", Scale: 1/32. The second kit is a GUILLOW'S Kit No. 805 North American B-25 Mitchell WWII bomber. This box has been opened but it looks like there are no missing parts. Everything inside the box looks to be in unopened box condition. Since I had no parts list to go by I am assuming that everything is there. This kit can be built as .020 - .049 twin engine U-control or for display. It has a 26 1/2" wingspan. read more
