Please read and understand this auction description completely before placing a bid. You are currently bidding on a beautiful used antique Gustav Becker camel back mantle clock with the Westminster and Trinity chimes. This clock is in overall very good to excellent condition, with minimal signs of wear. This clock does run, but does not keep time , as one of the springs in the movement is broken and will need to be repaired. The movement is stamped stating that this clock is a two (2) jewel clock and it is made in Germany. It has a 845 4/4 clock movement, as stated on the tage on the underside of the clock. The chimes work and sound beautiful and the clock and chimes are in sync with each other. T is a selector lever to switch is from the Westminster chimes to the Trinity chimes and they both work as they should. The case is in excellent condition and the original finish is too (for a clock of this age), but the finish is starting to show a bit of its age. I am dating this clock to around the early 1900's, as I was told by a professional clock repairman. The dial is all original as well, and has a unique oval shape, instead of the more common round dial. Aside from the broken spring, this clock has no other damage that I could see. I believe that someone just over wound the spring and it broke. The movement appears to be complete and undamaged, except for the broken spring. This clock is large and heavy, as it measures 20" long, 10" tall and 7" deep and weighs about 11 pounds. With a bit of time and/or money spent this will be a wonderful addition to your clock collection or a beautiful addition to your home's decor. Due to the repair that will be needed on this clock, I am selling this clock "AS IS" and as a non running clock, with no warranties expressed or given, and if you bid, you understand that it is not running and will need to be repaired. , and see if t is something else that might catch your eye, as I frequent many estate and specialty auctions and find many forgotten treasures.
