gxy 1943 P38 Walther Hard Shell Leather Holster/Eagle Insignia Police Military This is a nice Original German WWII Walther Gun/Pistol Holster that is marked on the back: gxy 1943 P38 It shows the Eagle Standing over the WaA700 Number Serial Number" I had a hard time making out the Lettering & Numbers because of the wear you can see in the pictures. The "gxy" stands for Klingle, Dresden. I believe this may have been a Police or Military Police Holster that was carried on person by seeing at some of the scuffing and scratching on it. Looks like it took some abuse but held up with the thick leather! These holsters were made between 1939 and 1944. The hard shell was discontinued but some were still distributed. In 1943 the Breakaway P38 Holster was issued, that is different from this one. Please look at the pictures I have taken up close so you can see the actual shape of this item. There are no stitching flaws, all in tact. The front hardware is in tact, and the leather has no breaks in it, it does show flaws on the outer side from use. Could use a good cleaning and conditioning but is in fairly good condition. The leather strap is on the inside is in tact and the Side Clip Insert is in good shape also.
