H-28. FFL M1935 summer tunic, 1st REC, rare one! This is a French Foreign Legion M1935 enlisted summer tunic with 1st REC issue stamps. It is very well worn, and has probably been reissued more then once as some markings were inked out and others added. Has two inside top pockets, and two lower external pockets, large fold down collar. Missing the lower front button, but looks like it's been gone a long time. Technically should have the silver Legion cavalry buttons, but I have seen other Legion tunics with the plain brass buttons more then once. The 1st REC joined the Free French and since equipment was in short supply made do with what was on hand. Tunic is very well worn and "washed out", has two nicely done small repair patches, one on breast and one on sleeve. Size is about a 38-40. This is a very rare tunic as most of the M35 uniforms were used up during the war, and the Germans destroyed large depot stocks of thme as well. I've only seen a few with Legion issue markings, and this is the only one I've seen to the 1st Cavalry Regiment. Be a long time before you see another one of these! The free listing tool.
