H C Marx Pianophone Zither Patent 1901 Not Pianoharp NRRare Early Patent 675,230 1901 all StringsOK, No Damage Rare, very early Patent Date 1901, No. 675,230. I found a similar Marx item with a patent # 1,044,553, much later. Printed on the instrument among other things is, "Hand Made Instrument"..."Do not mistake it for our Pianoharp which is a much cheaper instrument". Excellent condition for its age, check the photos, t are imperfections but no damage or signs of abuse, all strings are intact, the 7 section chord selector devise is complete except the 2 wood securing screws and the 2 small rectangular wood elevator blocks it mounts atop. These small parts were probably lost when removed to make it a more attractive wall hanging piece, that's the way it was found, as a decorative piece on a wall. Great antique collectible as a wall or tabletop conversation piece, in remarkable condition for the age. Another auction from vintageaudio
