Up for bid is this nice vintage "plier" pocket knife. This American "Plier Knife", called the "H.H.H." knife was manufactured by the Oscar Barnett Tool Company of Newark, New Jersey (which is stamped on the tang). These knives are based on the U.S. Patent No. 662,005 issued to James C Lewis of Tracy, California, on Nov. 20, 1900. The knife has "Trade H.H.H. Mark" stamped on the plier handle. The knife is in nice condition for its age, but the tip of the punch is broke off and could use a cleaning. T is no wobble in the blades.

These knives were originally sold in the Sears "Big Book" and the 1910 Thomas catalog, as well as distributed by many hardware wholesale houses. They were advertised as "Invaluable to Farmers, Horsemen, Miners, Sailors and Sportsmen". The knife embodies: Pocket Knife, Leather Punch, Swedging Awl, Wire Cutter, Wire Pliers, Alligator Wrench, Hoo Hoo Hook, ScrewDriver and ScrewBitt. It has brown jigged bone handles with an"easy open notch" on one side, a spear master blade and a punch. One end of the center liner projects for use as a screwdriver. The pliers incorporates a wire cutter and the end of its handle doubles as a hoof pick. The blades are made of the best carbon cutlers steel and tempered to withstand hard usage. The pliers/wirecutter are drop-forged tool steel (not steel castings).

If payment is made with a check, the item will be shipped when the check clears (7-10 days).
