Description: A striking cut crystal with an ornate Arts & Crafts design in Silver Deposit. If you reference Heacock & Johnson's 5000 Open Salts #3871, this is more beautiful and crisp, however, it is the identical pattern and salt. Several glassmakers are attributed to the various salts and designs of patterend Silver Deposit, so it is unclear who made this salt. Companies including Fostrias, Duncan, and others are high on the list. The underside base boasts a 22 -point, cut star, and the deposit is in excellent shape as this salt may never have been used. Once acquired, one needs to use a jeweler's cloth and gentle polising because the deposit can be easily damaged. This is an original cellar that would bring class to your China or Curio cabinet. Free of any cracks, chips striations, fleabites to the cut crystal, and the deposit is free of any dings, dents or damage - just an overall, nice example of turn of the Century Salt Cellars.
