This auction features a vintage toy cap gun, It is in compliance with Ebay rules and federal law. It has an orange plug affixed to the end of the barrel that denotes it is in fact a toy. It does not fire lethal projectiles, it can not be made or altered to fire lethal prjectiles. It can only be sold to residents of the USA. Bidders must be at least 18 years of age to participate in this auction..... Hi, This is 1 of 3 autions I will be listing here for nice and working 1950 era "Texas Ranger" cap guns made by Leslie Henry. Each one includes a nice holster as well, and each will feature a very attractive "Buy it now" price. I bought these early on in my vintage cap gun collecting hobby; before I decided to collect cap guns with the revolving cylinder only. These are taking up space that I can use for other cap guns that are now more to my liking. This auction is for a very nice 1st model that has nickel plating, the fancy scroll work and designs and the long breakdown lever. As you can see in the photos the finish on this cap gun is in very good to excellent condition with light corrosive wear on the hammer and anvil, with some darkening on the inside cap box area, both are the results of having had caps fired in it at some point. The gun is in great working condition with good springs on the trigger, the hammer and the breakdown lever. The original grips on all of these guns are thin and prone to easy warping. The grips on this gun were pretty badly warped when I got it, especially the right grip. It had warped to the point of cracking the grip in a couple of places near the horse and rider that is embossed on it. The left grip, with the embossed Steer's head is not cracked. I steamed the grips and got them back to where the warping is very minumal now, and I repaired the cracked grip with epoxy and reinforced the back side of it. The repaired cracks are only noticeable at close range. If you prefer grips that haven't been repaired; you will see in my photos that I am including a new set of carmel colored reproduction grips that you can use on the gun. Each grip has a horse's head embossed on it. They look nice on the gun and they add a little contast to the white background when the gun is in the holster. This is a very lovely and ornate vintage leather holster that is also well made. If I was guessing, I would say that this holster was meant to be used by a little cowgirl because of the color combination, but I could be wrong. The holster and belt are primarily white; with red accents and red and blue jewels that highlight the white. The holster has a lot of designs etched into the front pocket section and the back/flat piece that the pocket is sewn to is embossed with a highly detailed cowboy riding a horse as you will see in one photo.The back side of the holster and belt are covered with red felt like material. Some of the jewels are a little scuffed, but they should polish up nicely. The narrow stap at the top of the removeable holster where it attaches to the belt was getting a little thin, so I reinforced it with a piece of leather. This doesn't show when attached. The cap gun, with it's white grips looks really great in this holster. When I got the holster, the white color had yellowed to some degree and was quite dirty. I cleaned it real good and applied a new coat of water based white dye to it. It looks 100 times better now compared to what it looked like before. I displayed this rig with a rare girls "Frontier" rifle made by Hubley. It has a white stock and forearm. They looked super together. I will be listing the rifle also within the next day or two. As a bonus, I am including an easily rebuildable extra T.R. cap gun in this auction as well. I will look in my parts drawer and send any and all parts that I find that go with the extra gun.
