A set of six hand made pastry forks by the Haddad company of Lebanon and named Jezzin ware after the town (Jezzine). Founded in 1770, the company's wares have often been given as gifts to heads of states. Based on an ancient Phoenicien design, the handles are made from horn and are carved in the shape of a bird. The wings and the eyes are made from brass and the bird is studded with inset tubes of coloured glass. The bird's crest is made from coral. Dating from around the 1950s, the set has stainless steel tines and is in an excellent, barely used condition. They measure just over 6.75 inches long and have an unpacked weight of 208g.
