Hagen-Renaker Saddle Bred "Honora", small
Model A-429 I bought my first Hagen-Renaker when I was about 5. I was out shopping with Mom and saw Fez in a downtown store window. I was in love. My mother made me save up for him (I suspect she had him put on lay-by), then took me to the store to buy him myself. Well, that showed me how it was done. For the rest of the 50's and into the 60's I continued to add to my collection whenever earnings or gift money allowed. I'd rather not sell them now but they are giving me a gift: their proceeds are helping me to promote my equine art. Horses for horses as it were. Please visit if you'd like to see what my 5-year old crayon drawings finally led to.
Although this is referred to as the "small" Saddlebred, it stands 6 1/2 inches tall and is about 7 1/2 inches long. The color is white with soft gray shadings, heavier on the knees and hocks, mane and tail and the ears and muzzle. I also like the detail of using high gloss on the eyes and in the nostils while the rest of the figure has a very realistic "horse" shine. The ribbon is black and pale aqua. The condition is excellent with no breaks, repairs, chips or surface scratches. T is one odd "scratch" between the hind legs (see photo) but it appears to be under the glaze so I'm thinking it's a production flaw. Certainly not noticable - looking it over for the listing is the first time I remember seeing it and I've owned the horse for decades. T is moderate crazing on about three-fourth's of the body. AND, this time t's a little label, very little, that just says "Hagen-Renaker U.S.A." with the circle C.
Return Policy - I've included multiple photos and tried to give a good description so the sale will be final. However, please let me know if t's any information you need that I haven't covered.
Payment - Please pay with Paypal within 5 days of auction close. If you'd like to pay by money order or check, email me that it's on the way and plan to have it to me by 10 days after the close of the auction. If you're sending a personal check, please allow extra time on my end to allow it to clear.
Shipping - I've sent my sculptures and paintings around the country so I think I'm a good packer (one person who received one of the H-R's I've already sold declared my packing was "bomb-proof"). The horse is wrapped in tissue, then wrapped in bubblepack, then placed in the center of a new, good-sized box surrounded by peanuts. Method of shipping is buyer's choice between US Post Office Priority Mail or Parcel Post (the flat rate boxes aren't deep enough for the padding I use). NOTE: I will combine to save on shipping if I can do it without jeopardizing safety. I will ship within 3 days of confirmed payment.
Thanks for considering becoming the second owner of one of my horses!
