Hobo Nickel, Love token H aida style, "RAVEN" , Buffalo Nickel, by tmahr A HAIDA style l Hobo nickel / Love Token of the " RAVEN ". The Raven is know as the trickster .. but in a positive way.Hand engraved. A nice, bright coin with lots of detail, scalloped/scooped feathers detail on the Raven and a feather design border. Nice bright white hobo nickel/love token. Created in the Northwest Native American Haida style from a 1937 P Buffalo nickel. Pretty, with nice eye appeal. I feel the Raven, in the Haida style, is an appealing image, it seems to fit with the heritage of the coin. This coin has my new cutout shape around the date. HAIDA Northwest Coast art is the termcommonly applied to a style of art created primarily by artists from Tlingit, Haida, Tsimshian, Kwakwaka'wakw, Nuu-chah-nulth and other First Nations and Native American tribes of the Northwest Coast of North America, from pre-European contact times up to the present. The style has slightly exaggerated proportions with stylized shading and markings. As a newer artist, I'm trying to create somewhat different nickels. This is offered with all due respect to the raven and the Indian Head/Buffalo nickel .... in the true Hobo sense.Thank you for looking.tom
