This magazine/program was purchased at the Geary Theater in San Francisco at a performance of the musical "Hair." Hair, dubbed The American Tribal Love Rock Musical first opened in New York on April 29, 1968. Hair played in San Francisco in 1969. The controversial play addressed the Vietnam War, mind-altering drugs, free love, long hair, nudity and an assortment of changing social values. At that time San Francisco Bay area was the center of the anti-war movement and the hippy life style.

The magazine in good condition and contains 70 pages. T is a slight bit of dog earing at the corners, but the magazine is in no way damaged. Ads in the magazine include an advertisement for the new 1969 Ford Maverick and a state of the art reel to reel Teac tape player. T is a loose advertising insert for a nearby pub, "The New Geary Cellar Cocktail Lounge" located in the Geary Theatre.
