This extremely rare, limited edition, Halcyon Days, Christmas 1973, enamel box has a party scene, with a kitchen hearth,and a gentleman about to kiss a serving maid, under the mistletoe. Another maid is holding a figgy pudding. A brown cat, and two men, seated in chairs, are in the background. The side has the lyrics, to the sixteenth century, English carol, "We Wish You a Merry Christmas", with sprigs of holly. Figgy pudding is similar to Christmas pudding, but the primary ingredient, was figs. Inside is "Christmas 1973." It is 1.3" by 1.75" with a height of 1.2". On the bottom is : "Designed by Halcyon Days - London - Made in England", with "Bilston and Battersea Enamels", across the center, and "38/365." The enamel is in perfect condition. The painting and details are incredible. The metal banding has a lovely patina, with a few spots of verdigris, by the hinge. The box closes but it isn't tight. There isn't any contact between the top and bottom, so if lifted, or moved, it will open. Insured S&H is $10. Free shipping with the purchase of two or more items. International shipping is higher.
