You are bidding on a Haliotis rufescens 252 mm (approx. 9 15/16 inches) . It is very large for this species. This rufescens was part of a very old collection (from the 1970's) but had never been cleaned until now revealing the beautiful brick red and mother of pearl coloration. Haliotis rufescens this large are rarely offered on Ebay. This red abalone shows normal wear for a specimen of this size. This shell is a must if you are a serious Haliotis collector.
