HALL CHINA AUTUMN LEAF ALL CHINA DRIP COFFEE POT Today I am offering a hard to find Autumn Leaf All China Drip coffee pot found in goood condition pack away for many years. This 5 cup piece sold by Jewel Co. was introduced in 1942 during WWII in all china style which would eliminate use of metal which was scarce. Also it was made to conserve coffee in that time of need. Ads of this pot indicated the china dripper conserved coffee since it was designed "to bring out the maximum flavor so less than the usual amount of coffe is needed to brew a cup of normal strength." Production of this style was discontinued in 1945. Coffee pot measures 10 " high, has handled insert section which fits into the drip area & has autumn leaf pattern on both sides of pot. Bottom marking is:HALL'S SUPERIOR, TESTED AND APPROVED BY MARY DUNBAR, JEWEL HOMAKING INSTITUTE in circle and QUALITY KITCHENWARE. Top cover has no chips, cracks and gold wear on nob only. Top china section has little wear on design, a few very tiny glaze pops, no chips or crack except for bottom of brewer which has tiny indentated areas, rub marks and some slight discolorations. Handled insert also has no chips or cracks but bottom has an irregular oval shaped area which may be from production. Lastly, the coffee pot bottom section has wear on gold trim at top and on the handle. T read more
