Hall teapot 0533P MAROON/ PLATINUM automobile 1930's Maroon and Platinum 1930's Hall Automobile teapotCondition| GOOD FLAWED This has the following problems from the outside this actually looks GOOD and until carefully examined you might think it to be in nice condition. several issues to mention first the body....there is a fine hairline extending from the back corner of where the lid attaches down the back side of the teapot. it is a tight line that is completely stabile I had to look carefully as its well hidden due to the dark color. i would say iys about 2.5 or so inches in length.There is also a tiny chip under the front inside edge of where the lid rests and a pin head or smaller size divot on the underside edge of the spout REALLY a tiny one that is pretty much invisible as it's under the spout and does not reach the edge. the platinum is worn in spots which you should be able to see in the pics. The Lid...The underside of the lid has a chip to the inside and a rub along the inside edge where the glaze is gone both are totally hidden from view and can not be seen at all with the lid on the teapot and the lid functions as it should so these are interior cosmetic damages on the deep underside of the lid they really do not effect. I realize all this sounds bad but in reality almost nothing shows on the outside of the teapot so it is quite a good looking teapot even with these issues and as you all know extra rare as the automobiles were only produced in small quantity for a very short period of time. A bit of HistoryThe collection was purchased in it's entirety, The good, the bad the ugly and the exceedingly RARE and valuable. It will be sold at random I will not take requests or change the way I am used to doing things I will unpack each box (over 15 large boxes weighing almost 35 lbs each), I will wash lightly for photos, check if there have been any repairs or any damages and list them. The teapots and other Hall China were found in the summer home of a Massachusetts Collector the collection was started before the first Hall book was written and continued for years. There are well over 100 teapots and some assorted casseroles pitchers etc. The group had been offered privately in it's entirety for an undisclosed price with no takers and it found it's way to an auction where it was sold as one lot. Included in all states and conditions were 9 worlds fair teapots, ten automobile teapots, five donut teapots, eight melody teapots, eleven Ronald Raegan teapots, several airflow, star, thorley, regal, Boston, twinspout, and on and on...many in desirable colors and at times multiples of rare forms. All items are FRESH to the market they have not been previously offered for sale. The starting prices are based on realistic wholesale or less prices. I am starting some at 9.99 and others as much as 99.99 I do not use Buy it Now so you must bid on my auctions. I generally have a 99% ratio of what I list to what sells so my staring prices make everything available at way under the normal marketplace prices. I took this on as a project with a friend who I bought out of the project. In the case of this collection I am now OWNER so I am not selling for anyone else. This is a rare adventure for me as I usually sell for ESTATES, COLLECTORS and friends and I usually sell on commission. I know my regulars will support my efforts here and I want all to have fun while watching these Hall auctions.
