This is one of the earliest examples of the annual Kansas City Mayor's Christmas Tree Ornament. I believe the first year Hallmark began making the commemorative ornaments for the fundraiser was 1981 (acrylic snowflake). They stopped making acrylic ornaments and switched to making ornaments out of wood from the previous year's Christmas Tree (on display at Hallmark headquarters CROWN CENTER) in late 1980's.
