Halloween Paper Mache "Boo on JOL" Figure!NOTE: 3 Day auction This is another one of my takes on the antique halloween paper mache figures produced in the 1920's, 30's that came out of Germany and the cottage industry t Those were pressed in molds and have been an inspiration to me. My figures are each individually hand shaped (not pressed in a mold) from pulp paper mache over an armature I built myself and then covered with strip paper mache, before being hand painted with acrylics. This kitty sitting on a JOL was then sealed and waxed with an antiquing wax, giving it an old, antique-y look. Boo on JOL stands 8" tall on a 4"x 2¾" base. The wooden base was also covered in strip paper mache, painted with acrylics and then sealed and waxed. Boo seems to be very happy. as does the JOL!(see closer view below!) I will be making similar ones in the future. Remember, no two will ever be completely alike since they are all hand shaped and hand painted. Boo on JOL is signed and dated on the bottom by me, California artist, Elona Engelke. If you have any questions, please contact me! Please check out my other listings! Thanks!
