This is the 1975 Hamilton Mint Christmas Plate entitled "Tannenbaum" and minted in .999 fine silver. The accompanying original certificate of authenticity states: The Hamilton Mint by certifies that the proof plate accompanying this certificate contains nine troy ounces of solid .999 Fine Silver and was produced in a limited edition. The plate was minted in bas-relief from a sculpture by Alfred Brunettin. Serial Number 176. Certified Nov. 15, 1975. This plate has never been removed from the plastic wrapping. The plate does have three small areas of oxidation (see photos.) It is a beautiful rendition of two children bringing home the Christmas tree. The plate comes in its original brown vinyl, gold-lined case with a lovely etching of St. Nicholas on the cover (see photo.) Also comes with original certificate, the receipt from Hamilton Mint and even the original plastic gloves as well as a white box. The plate measures 8" in diameter. The case is 11" by 11" and 1 1/2" deep.
