HAMPDEN 23j SPECIAL RAILWAY 2-TONE GILT TRIMMED & FANCY DIAL. This watch was produced in 1895 and represents among the most successful efforts by American Manufactures to create the essence of beauty in a movement. This 2-tone example is both bright color and very high grade (23 Jewels). Also the cause for extra value and collectability is the very rare original fancy dial for this model, which is seldom seen. Very clean, running and desirable. THIS IS A FINE COLLECTIBLE. DON'T INVEST IN THE STOCK MARKET. BUY SOMETHING PROVEN IN TIME.
DIAL: Mint original rare single sunken fancy dial with a very pale purple figure ring with 18k gold seconds track, Black Arabic figures, a fancy 18k gold reef or bouquet above post and fancy hands. MOVEMENT: open face, full plate 2-tone yellow and nickel damascening, signed "SPECIAL/ RAILWAY", gilt trimmed, marked: "ADJUSTED 23 Jewels", all 14k rose gold screw down jewel settings, #1,886,459. Outstanding bright colors, free of distraction. CASE: Excellent screw back and bezel open face with a home in the country on the back.
