Hand Carved Chinese Celedon Jade Figural Deer Vase with Fitted Stand Silver Inlay. This is a beautiful celedon jade carving of a deer, which is a chinese symbol of longevity. A vase form sits atop the deers back. Possibly a brush pot. The carving of the deer is quite fine with front legs folded under. It sits within a fitted wooden stand which has silver or brass inlay design. There are no broken areas, there is a minor surface crack by the tail but nothing missing. The antlers are perfect. The piece stands 6" tall and 6 1/2" long. c.1900-1930.
