This hand carved & Painted “mini” goose was createdby Richard Porter, wood carver , in Stratford , CT around 1970. This charming little goose measures 12-3/4” from the tip of his bill to the last feather on his tail and across the middle approximately 4” . He weighs 1 lb. 4.4 oz. The top of his head is 6" from the bottom and the body stands approximately 3-1/2" tall. The photos speak for themselves and the carving of the feathers is very fine. The eyes appear to be glass and on the bottom is a hallmark: Handcrafted by Richard Porter. (see photo) Also on the bottom is a short very fine surface fracture line but it isn’t deep. His tail feathers are in EXCELLENT condition with no broken off pieces. Little Goose is a one owner artifact from a smoke free home. This "mini" goose was purchased from Richard Porter, wood carver, in Stratford , CT around 1970. The bulk of Porter’s works were commissioned and he is well known throughout Connecticut and the surrounding state areas. Richard is deceased. Please email with any questions before bidding. I have lots of photos.
