You are bidding on ONE Hand Forged Denglestock. Measuring 6 15/16" long, the face is 1 1/8" wide, 3/16" thick, and it weighs 15 oz unboxed. Now what's a denglestock (also spelled dengelstock and a bunch of other ways as well), you ask? Well them old PA Dutch (German) farmers, being of a thrifty (also know as cheap) bunch, instead of grinding down their scythe blades, would stick the denglestock into a stump or the top of a fence post and using a small cross peen hammer (called the dengle of all things) would draw out the edge of the blade till it was sharp and then dress it with a stone. Pretty neat eh? This one is in good shape. The face is steel let into a wrought iron body. T is a small chip off the side of the face, but the face itself is good. Looks like someone dressed off some mushrooming off the spike (not me). But for the age, it is right good shape. Flat rate shipping of $6.85 anyw in the USA! This is a great early farm and Pennsylvania Dutch collectible. And remember..the more ya buy, the cheaper dey fly! Good luck bidding and be sure to hit the button to visit my Ebay Lots of goodies in t as well. All items for sale unless otherwise noted are purchased and in most cases professionally restored by me. I take pride in offering quality items. Not everything is perfect, but it is as I say it is. Also, I smoke a pipe, drink whiskey, both cheap and good, and cuss more in a hour than most folks do in a month. If any or all of the above bother's ya, well then we ain't got no reason to be doing business. The NOT SO FINE Print Slighty Revised 07/14/07 Priority Mail items are sent at actual shipping & insurance charges with a small charge for packaging. The packing charge is very reasonable. Insurance is mandatory. Smaller items are sent via 1st class mail with insurance at a flat rate which includes a small charge to cover the cost of the mailing and the extra packing time. Foreign shipments have a minimum $1.50 US packing fee in addition to the shipping costs. I do NOT use UPS, don't ask (and it sure ain't any cheaper!) PA buyers must add 6% sales tax or provide an exemption certificate. I accept checks, money orders, PayPal, equivalent amounts in gold bullion, or good Scotch. No kids or cats, got too many of both.
