In the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle resides an elegant glass studio that houses some of Seattle 's most creative glass artisans. After what I would call an excessive amount of badgering and persuasion I (a student at this hot shop) finally convinced one of the artists in the studio to allow me to place a couple of his recent pieces onto EBay for auction. This piece is by the talented Randy Myers.
Randy Myers is well known in the Seattle glass art community. He has over 12 years of training in his craft, including study with Richard Royal at Pilchuck Glass School in Washington and Preston Singletary at Pratt Fine Arts Center. Photos of his pieces have been published nationally in various art books. Working out of Blowing Sands Glass Studio in Ballard allows him the freedom to pursue his own artistic muse with molten hot glass. This Randy Myers piece is a prototypes of a new series he is working on and we want to get a feel for how well they might be received by the public. Each piece is signed by the artist, marked w it was made, Seattle , and has been dated 2006. I am one of the students in the shop and I'll be auctioning off this new piece. I hoped my photos could do it justice, but in reality they are more striking and colorful in person. Size of Blue vase, 8" height, 9" round top, 5 " bottom. So let's get to it, let us EBayers convince Randy and the whole shop, that the EBay community knows art and appreciates a good piece of hand made, blown glass.
