I am not in any way an expert on this but I can tell you when I saw this collection it took my breath away. The builder made hundreds signed & numbered each one.He was a local craftsman in his eighties who recently passed away. These were from his estate and as far as I could tell he never sold them before.I have four and may be able to obtain more.As far as the craftsmanship you can be the judge but I have not seen any on ebay that could even compare to the quality & woods. This Egalite is a French American gig so called due to their combination of their 200 year old French design and traditional American construction methods. This ship competed at the Statue of Liberty Centennial in New York July 5th & 6th 1986.The ship competed with a mixed crew of American & French crews. The ship had stations for 10 oarsmen & coxswain. This hull is approx: 26 inches in length.
