hand made vintage spanish guitar.Ricardo Quiles Ballester

handmade spanish guitar by Ricardo Quiles Ballester.the guitar is over 40 years old so has a few battlescars.i dont know much about the maker apart from he was active in valencia between the late fifties and late seventies.also he worked with his two sons Vicente and Rafael who still make guitars.this guitar is made from fine wood with ebony fretboard and bridge and a solid spruce top.looking inside the guitar reveals that the grains match up for the back and sides and it is very loud and light so that makes me think it is an all solid wood guitar.the colour on the inside actually looks like walnut.the compensated saddle is bone and not original but everything else is as far as i can tell.there are a few issues as you would expect with an old girl like this and i will describe to the best of my knowledge.there is a slight lifting of the middle seam at the back of the guitar which looks stable enough and should not cause any problem if left as it is.also the top nut should be replaced as the slots are poorly cut thus preventing better action and intonation.the guitar is sold as seen and will be packed securely in the case which is a fairly basic one.i have posted delicate guitars before and know how to pack safely so .alternatively the item could be collected if you are within travelling distance.thats all anyway so any questions ... read more
