LOVELY HAND PAINTED NIPPON PORCELAIN BOWL GREEN MARK This lovely fruit bowl measures 3" tall and 7-1/4" in diameter across the top. The design is raised apples and leaves on branches, in rich fall colors. Bottom is clearly marked in green ink "HAND PAINTED NIPPON" with an "M" in a wreath. My reference book, The Collector's Encyclopedia of Nippon Porcelain, Third Series, by Joan F. Van Patten, states the "M" stands for importer, Morimura Bros. It also describes the bowl as "molded in relief". Bowl is free from chips, cracks, breaks or flakes, and no sign of repairs. T is a factory flaw in the glaze which I have pictured, but since it is near the handle and close to the bottom you can easily display it from either side without seeing the flaw. Items are sold "as is, as found", so please email with questions or concerns prior to bidding. We try our best to describe all items as accurately as possible, especially those that have small flaws or minor damage. We do not sell pieces that we would not display ourselves. Please see our other auctions for more quality Nippon and vintage items! We accept PayPal, money orders, cashier's checks and personal checks. Personal checks will be held for 10 days or until cleared by the bank before item is shipped. Payment is expected within 7 days of the end of auction. We are not responsible for items damaged during shipping, and we require insurance on items that are fragile. If multiple items are won in our auctions, we will be happy to combine shipping (when possible) to save you money. Good luck and happy bidding!
