Hand-painted NIPPON Porcelain Handled Dish WISTERIA

Offered is a lovely handled dish. Can be used for candy, crackers, etc., but it would be a shame to cover the beautiful delicate painting! Dish is made of white porcelain -- measures about 8 1/2 x 6 1/2". Height including arched handle is about 3". Green stamped mark on the underside "NIPPON - HAND-PAINTED". Hand-painted wisteria blossoms in white, pink and purple are nestled among foliage that is painted in shades of green, pale yellow and touches of soft orange. Gold paint highlights the arched handle, the flowing outer rim of the dish and around the bottom edge. Please note wear to the gold paint, mostly noticed on the handle. Condition is very good with no noted chips, cracks, repairs or crazing of the bright glaze. The underside rim does show wear that is appropriate for the age of the dish ( few small nicks and wear). One area to mention that is NOT damage, but may be important to bidders: t is a small area close to w one side of the handle attaches to the dish. This area shows white porcelain and appears to be an area that was never hand-painted. Looks like the background design was first stencilled or sponged on, leaving an outlined area for the artist to paint the florals.......the artist missed a leaf.
