Please be aware that you will not be looking at a couple of lengths of unfinished plastic pipe stuck into one another using an o-ring or tennis ball for a seal and some mismatched fittings glued on to make a simple sniping tube. That type of device was the only choice available to the prospector of yesterday - as it was the only device provided at a time when nothing else was available. For the era, these devices worked - sort of. It was that or brute strength and a heavy pry bar followed by a whole lot of tedious classification & panning.
