Own an original piece of American artwork. This is a one of a kind bank. It was hand made by a local New Brunswick, NJ area artist and even if he made any other Yellow Cab Co.taxis (which he may have, for all I know he made many of them), any others that he made are different in that he could not make two exactly the same. This was purchased in the spring of 1985 at the Douglass Folk Festival, an annual festival honoring the arts and crafts of New Jersey and held at Rutgers University each spring since 1976 (or so). The name of the artist (Norwood) is carved into the bottom of the taxi. I do not remember his full name and I have no idea what has happened to him since I purchased this. I remember that he had a variety of ceramic automobiles at his stand, but I have never seen him or his ceramic art work ever again. I vaguely recall that he was from the area of New Brunswick, but am not 100% sure. This was the only Yellow Cab Co. taxi he had at the stand so I am confident that I am correct when I call it unique and rare. It is quite large measuring 14 1/2 inches long bumper to bumper, 6 inches high and 6 inches wide. It weighs almost 2 1/2 pounds. It is glazed shiny yellow with grey windows, shiny chrome bumbpers and highlights, and red taillights. The wheels are a flat grey color. It is obviously hand made and you can see the bumps read more
