E. C. Atkin Co .No 2 BacksawCherry Handle10 " - 14 points Per Inch10 x 2-3/8 x .025Filed Cross Cut1940 EraAtkins was a saw company run by 3 generations in Indianapolis. I've always found there saws to have unique features and designs at a time when most were similar and Disston like. If your a car guy I'd say they were the Mopar of the industry. I don't get my hands on to many of the back saws and this No 2 is in very good shape with clean etch. Note the chamfer in he cheek on the backside of the handle needed a repair. This 10" 14 point backsaws was sharpened cross cut and tuned as needed to cut seasoned woods with ease. see more detail below. The 10" 14 point is perfect for general use with a bench hook or small tenon work. All saws come with a FREE second sharpening . (shipping not included)ABOUT THE SAWHANDLE: The handle needed one chamfer in the cheek replaced. This was done with seasoned wood and I will stand behind my repairs. In addition you will find some owners marks and it's possible this was used in a public school "PS". Check the pictures and you'll fine minimal nicks and a few chips but nothing structural other then the repair. The original finish is in good condition, I've lightly refinished with shellac and wax. The hardware is brass that was cleaned but not buffed.PLATE: The straight and smooth plate retains a factory read more
