A very rare hand signed Royal Christmas card from the late Queen Mother to a friend, Richard Wilkins of Hertfordshire. The card includes the phrase "With best wishes for Christmas and the New Year 1971". It has been hand signed in ink “from Elizabeth R”. The ink signature is bold and clear. The interior includes a photograph of the Queen Mother standing in the grounds of Clarence House with her three youngest grandchildren: Prince Edward, Lord David Linley and Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jones. The card includes its original env elope addressed to Mr Wilkins. It bears the royal cypher to the bottom left. Mr Wilkins was a f riend of several mem bers of the Royal Family including the Pri nce of Wales, Queen Mo ther and Princess Mar garet. He was a Stock Jobber in the City of London. He was a n amateur rac ing car driver and one-time yacht ow ner. This is a no reserve sale.
