Gorgeous Handwoven Wool Navajo Rug"Ganado" Style Rug - 44" x 72" Condition: Very good NO RESERVE Large rug features vibrant Red, Gray and Black colors. We were told these colors make it a "Ganado" style. It looks exactly like the cover design shown of this book. It has repetitive crosses and black band motif. Very good condition overall. Slightly lighter on one side from being used, but it's not very noticeable. It has intact edging and corner tassels, and has no stains, holes or insect damage. In the early 1990s, my ex-husband and I fell in love with shopping at Western Art auctions and ended up collecting some beautiful Navajo rugs to decorate our Spanish-style home. We were told this gorgeous rug was 100% wool, and dated from some time in the early- to mid-20th century. We were (are!) not experts, but just fell in love with this, and others like it. When we split up (a sad story) and our house was sold, the Navajo rugs were carefully placed in storage. I've since remarried, and live in a different style home that these rugs no longer fit into. This rug deserves to be shown off and enjoyed in a new home. Whether you're a collector, or just a homeowner who loves this style, give this rug a new home. It deserves it! Please see our other auctions for additional Navajo-style rugs! Thanks for looking!
