VINTAGE CARMEL SLAG FILIGREE TABLE LAMP Gorgeous slag lamp I believe is Handel. It has 8 panels and a filigree roses floral & leaf boarder. The floral design is repeated on the the neck with a ribbon & many detailed open blooms. This lamp measures 24" high, 18 1/2" wide. It is not signed but in my research Kovels describes a Handel lamp as "roses & leaves filigree carmel slag, antiqued finish, 24" ", which describes this lamp perfectly. Although, it could be from another maker of this era. It is quite heavy, with thick slag panels and has a commanding appearance. 2 bulb sockets produce a wonderful bright light and through the slag, is just a stunning effect. I believe it is some type of base metal that has an antiqued gold finish applied. The finish is quite worn but this speaks to the authenticity of the piece. The shade is dome shaped and is in excellent condition. No broken or cracked glass. It is sturdy and fits the frame tightly, perfectly with no movement. Quality craftsmanship and quality materials. The electrical cording looks newer so has probably been replaced along the way. A wonderful size and beautiful piece. Just STUNNING!!
