18` conical chipped and sand finished shade with reverse and obverse-painted landscape of fir trees on rocky cliffs overlooking `The Oxbow` on the Connecticut River with a background of rolling hills, against a pale grey sky. Signed Handel / 5854, ca 1912. Supported on a signed Handel bronze base molded with a forest in low relief, original patina and acorn pulls, overall height 23`. (See May, 2003: 185.)
