Up for sale is another beautiful new handmade Amish quilt from Lancaster County, PA. This quilt is in pattern Country Grapes and not only has vibrant and rich colors, but the quilting is outstanding with tiny even stitches throughout. I was thrilled to find a grapes quilt with its grape appliques in deep purple shades as they should be! The grapes range from royal though plum, lilac and lavender in both solids and prints. The surrounding ribbons and hearts on the center crest and border are in a black print with shades of lavender, rose, salmon, sage, white and more. The grapes are surrounded with grape leaves appliqued in deep dark greens which contrast nicely. In addition to the fine applique work is the remarkable quilting. At 8-9 tiny SPI, this quilt is quite the example of craftsmanship. The center crest has a beautiful featd heart and t are little hearts quilted all along w the body meets the skirting. The remaining body features ray pattern quilting that just reflects hours of careful work. The border has a matching grape appliques and the bottom corners have little heart appliques to match the crest. The background fabric is lightest cream. T is a handsome appliqued headpiece to lay across the pillows. This piece is such a treasure. The edges are gently scalloped and the piece is bound in purple. This quilt is a nice size, measuring approximately 114 inches by 101 inches Wide. It is pictured on a pillowtop Queen and hangs nicely. It will hang longer on a standard Queen and might be suited to a king size bed with a dust ruffle, but as always, please measure before you buy.
