Up for sale is another beautiful new handmade Amish quilt from Lancaster County, PA. This quilt is in the pattern Victorian Flower Basket, and is such an elegant piece! We are alway excited to be able to offer this pattern of quilt. The dainty center basket is appliqued with delicate pieces in a plum and black print. The flowers that pour from the basket are in vibrant and dramatic shades including burgundy solids and prints in black, cranberry, burgundy and brick with hues of purple, rose, lavendar, pink, white, gold, blue and more. The surrounding leaves in shades of green in solids and prints varying from soft pastels to rich earthy tones. The diamond frame around the center basket is in a black print which matches several of the flower appliques. T are additional flowers appliqued at the corners of the body as well at the headpiece. What also makes this quilt a showstopper is the wide array of quilting details. Inside the crest and about the flowers outside the crest are featd scrolling quilting that is so lovely and dramatic. T are also little pinwheel blooms quilted in the crest as well as neat rows of interlocking hearts along w the body meets the skirting. All of the quilting is small and neat and very nicely done. The skirting is quilted with a ribbon pattern border all around and the absence of appliques on the skirting give a clean elegant feel that frames the vibrancy of the body well. The background fabric is lightest cream. The edges are gently scalloped and the piece is bound in burgundy. This quilt is a generous size, measuring approximately 116 inches by 105 inches Wide. It is pictured on a pillowtop Queen and hangs nice and long. It may be too long a standard Queen and might be suited to a king size bed with a dust ruffle, but as always, please measure before you buy. This beauty would make an outstanding gift for your special person!
