This is a one of a kind, hand- made needlepoint rug in the French Aubusson style. Unlike most Aubusson medallion carpets, this piece has not one, but two, medallions giving the effect of an all-over design. Centered on each half of the rug is a wonderfully detailed and naturalistic bouquet of pink, white, yellow peonies and roses with moss green leaf accents on a salmon colored field. Surrounding each bouquet are two concentric circles of similar buds and blossoms . Additional bouquets adorn the corners. The entire central area of the rug is surrounded by a thin band of brown and yellow framed by a larger border of robins’ egg blue and taupe with a chain of flowers and leaves within. This elegant carpet would look equally well in a formal city dining room or a casual , country sun room! Like all needlepoint rugs this piece is thin and requires a pad to keep it in place. This carpet is absolutely clean and ready for use in your home. If youdesire, non-slip padding cut to size for this piece can be included inyour shipment for an additional payment of $.95 per square foot. This padding is an organic, cork- based product designed especially for use with high quality, hand made rugs. It is an extremely thin product and secures the rug to the floor preventing any movement and slipping hazard.
