Handcrafted Ballpoint Pen- Black Walnut This pen was crafted in my woodshop for a person who really enjoys the nostalgia of wielding a classic pen made of a classic material like black walnut. This wood is a wonder to turn. I've always enjoyed working it; it's got a great smell and polishes to a rich sheen easily. Best of all it grows all over the midwest. Close grained and typically a chocolate brown color with some lighter streaks. Great natural color and unque shape make this pen stand out in the crowd! Polished and sealed with lacquer for years of protection. The metal on this fine pen is a high quality 24K gold plating. You'll be pleased with the durability and detail in the clip. I've sold pens 5 or 6 years ago and this type of plating has not worn off. So by all means, use this beautiful pen every day! T is no plastic on this pen. You will see and FEEL a difference. It's about 7/16" wide at the widest portion and five inches long. It has a nice heft to it and uses refills available at all major department and drug stores (Cross). Itâe(tm)s loaded with a black refill and comes with an acrylic plastic and velvet gift case. I really enjoyed making this pen and hope the indivdual who wins will show it off.
