The name Four Winds comes from the Indian Four Winds design in both the handle pins, and the sheath. Although primarily designed as a skinning knife, it's size, weight and design make it very suitable for other applications too. It has a lot of belly, virtually no straight edge, and a very sharp point. It's scale tang construction makes it nearly indestructible. The blade itself is 1095HC that has been polished, tempered to 54RC, and has a thumb rest. It measures 3 1/2 X 1 1/4 X 1/8. Overall length is 7 1/2 inches. The handle scales are Curly Maple, and they are secured to the tang with 6 brass pins. The cowhide belt sheath is riveted for strength, and is of the pouch design to both secure and protect the knife. This is not one of those made in China flea market specials. This is a 100% handmade field knife made by me right in Oklahoma America. And, as with all my knives, it is intended to be used. So, whether you're into hunting, fishing, backpacking, or dinosaur neutering, this is a good, sturdy knife that will easily handle the job.
