This was never sold or used. It shows some paint chipping. The handle has some wood filler on it. On the narrow blades side directly under the head. This may have been done during fitting of the handle to the head? The edge is sharp and polished. The iron was machined from a solid billet of steel. The owner was a respected maker of knives and hatchets from Shelby Ohio. He went to antique and gun shows in the area. He passed and the auction was a story of his life. I love Norlunds so I jumped on these. This one is 14-1/2" long with a head of 6-1/4" x 3-5/8" blade. This is sharp and will cut hair with ease. The head is tight to the handle. The handle has that vintage curved style that fits so nice in the hand. This is a fine piece made in America one at a time along time ago. I saved this for last because of the curved handle. I thought it was his finest work I owned, for a week anyway. Then when looking closer it was a botched effort on the handle... But still I believe the quality shines through. And it still has value to a buyer of hand made cutting tools! I just can't see you not proud to own such a well made item.
