Up for auction is this Beautiful Grandfather Clock from the Westwood Clock Company. This clock cost over $2500. new. I spent two years building it from their top of the line kit about 30 years ago. It has been regularly serviced by a local clock worker and it keeps perfect time. It has an Urgos #10A Movement, made in Germany . The movement also has a built in electronic beat adjustment but I rarely used it because it keeps perfect time without it. This is a 5 tube chiming clock with Westminster chimes. All tubes and parts are solid brass, the weights and large lyre pendulum are etched with a beautiful design. T is not one scratch or nick on it anyw The cabinet is Solid Black Walnut with Carpethian Elm burl overlays. The glass is all bevelled front and sides. The clock stands 81 inches tall, 24 inches across at the widest point of the base and 14 inches deep at the base also. I have some paperwork and a manual which came with it. An extraordinarily detailed floor clock with bookmatched Carpethian Elm burl gracing the front and sides of the unique swan neck pediment, and a carved urn finial and finial support add the finishing touch. The hand-rubbed, solid Black Walnut finish is in immaculate condition. The elaborate dial includes raised brass Arabic numerals, cast center and corner ornaments, and a moon phase dial. A large lyre polished brass pendulum mirrors the dial and polished brass weight shells complete the picture. Canted columns frame the beveled glass doors. Attention to detail continues on the multi-tiered base, w you’ll find canted corners, and uniquely elegant features. The glass and walnut doors on the upper sides offer easy access to the movement and storage of the hand crank and door key. Cable-driven, German made Urgos movement. Adjustable levelers under each corner provide stability on uneven and carpeted floors. Locking door for added security.
